On May 2, 2013 at approx. 10:00 p.m., Misti Whitfield was walking alone in the area of W. Hillsborough Avenue and N. Rome Street in Tampa headed toward her home. Her family and friends reported her as missing after several days of not being able to contact her. After an exhaustive search for Misti, she was found deceased on October 24, 2014 in a shed near the location that she was last seen. Detectives determined that she had been the victim of a homicide.

On November 26, 2013 at approximately 10:50 p.m., Quantrell Keller, 23 years old, (pictured), was shot and killed at his residence on Rosedale Lane in Holiday. The unknown suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 20-25 years old, short with a stocky build.

Michael James Hector Jr.-Plant City PD Unsolved Homicide

STATUS: CLOSED
On November 26, 2019 at approximately 9:24 p.m., in front of the residence located at 1009 Washington Street W. in Plant City, an adult black male was found in the roadway at Tyler Street and Washington Street with multiple gunshot wounds.  He was identified as Michael James Hector, Jr., 12/15/1994 (see photo).  The victim died as the result of the injuries he sustained.  Michael is from the Lakeland/Winter Haven area and it is unknown at this time why he was in Plant City.

Donta Allen-TPD Unsolved Homicide
November 11, 2019

STATUS: OPEN
On September 15, 2019, shortly after 9 p.m., at Palifox Street E. near 44th Street N., an adult male, identified as Donta Allen, was found suffering from upper body trauma. Donta died as a result of his injuries. 
Law Enforcement learned approximately 20 minutes before Donta's murder, that he was dropped off near NetPark, 5700 block of Hillsborough Avenue E. It is unclear how Donta ended up at Palifox Street E. and 44th Street N. 
 
Update:
Tampa Police have released two photographs that shows Donta Allen sitting on a table at NetPark approximately 10 minutes before he was found at Palifox Street E. and 44th Street N. with fatal injuries.
Tampa Police are seeking to identify and locate two other people seen in the photographs - a woman standing near a tree at the top of the planter, and a man with a backpack and a bicycle sitting on the planter. Detectives believe that these two people maybe able to shed some light on how Donta Allen got from NetPark to the location where his body was found.

James Batten-Pasco County Unsolved Homicide

On October 26, 2019 at 9:49 p.m., there was a report of gun shots on First Street within the Zephyr Point Apartments. The victim, who was identified as James Batten, was found to have suffered a gun shot wound to his upper body. Batten was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

James William Earl-Pasco County Unsolved Homicide

On January 16, 2019 at approximately 6:52 a.m., Pasco Fire Rescue received a medical call at the residence of 14838 Glenrock Road in Spring Hill.  It was determined that the victim sustained a gunshot wound and was found deceased in the driveway of his residence by his fiance.  The victim has been identified as James William Earl, who is a documented Pagan Motorcycle Club member.  At this time, motive, including any connection to activities of the club are unknown.

TPD Detectives Release Video in Homicide of Teen

STATUS: OPEN
On July 22, 2019 at 3:44 p.m. a teen was shot in the 10000 block of N. Pawnee Avenue by unknown suspect(s).  The teen died as a result of the injuries he sustained.  
 
Detectives have released a video of a vehicle of interest as it was seen nearby around the same time the shooting occurred.  They are looking for a newer model, light-colored sedan, possibly a Ford Focus.  The vehicle was captured on surveillance video.

On June 8, 2019 at 5:04 a.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into the residence located at 514 West Plaza Place in Tampa.  Once inside, the suspect(s) shot and killed the occupant who was identified as Eric Patterson, 26 yoa.  The suspect(s) then fled on foot several blocks south of the residence to a white SUV.

On March 24, 2019 at 4:00 a.m., the victim and his friends were at 813 Hookah Lounge located at 4815 Busch Boulevard East in Tampa.  While the victim was walking to his car, he was shot by an unknown suspect(s).  The victim, who was identified as Andre Hope, 29 yoa, died as a result of the injuries he sustained.  A vehicle was seen leaving the location at a high rate of speed just after the shooting.  It is believed to be a white Hyundai Sonata.

Cristian Velazues-Osorio-TPD Unsolved Homicide
November 28, 2018

In the afternoon hours of November 17, 2018, unknown suspects forced their way into the residence at 2409 State Street West in Tampa.  The suspects were armed with handguns and demanded money from a 19 yoa female resident who was in the kitchen.  The female's boyfriend, Cristian Velazquez-Osorio, was in bed at the time.  He got up to respond to the commotion, at which time one of the suspects shot him.  The suspects then threatened the female, who was 8 months pregnant, with the same fate if she did not comply with their demands.  Velazquez-Osorio died as a result of his injuries.  Area surveillance video shows a 4-door silver vehicle that may be involved.

Tesean Blue-TPD Unsolved Homicide

On September 3, 2018 at 8:35 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) shot the victim while he was riding his bicycle southbound on Banyan Avenue from 13th Street North in Tampa.  As a result of the injuries, the victim fell of his bicycle in the 9400 block of Brooks Street North.  The victim, who died from the injuries he sustained, was identified as Tesean Blue, 18 years of age.

Heans Cuzan-Alvarez-Pasco Unsolved Homicide
June 28, 2018

STATUS: OPEN
On June 27, 2018 at approximately 12:55 p.m., two black males entered a construction site and approached the victim while he was at 28512 Marsciano Lane in Wesley Chapel.  The victim, who was identified as Heans Cuzan-Alvarez, was shot in the upper body.  Cuzan-Alvarez died as a result of the injuries.  The suspects are described as light skinned black males, between 5'03" - 5'08", very thin build, possibly with short dread locks and both suspects had their face covered.  The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a 2017 or 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid, black in color.

Chandrahas Patel - NPR PD Unsolved Homicide

On January 12, 1998, the victim, who was also the owner of the Green Key Beach Hotel located at 6434 US Highway 19 in New Port Richey, was stabbed while at his place of business.  The victim, who died as a result of the injuries he sustained, was identified as Chandrahas Patel.  A witness observed the suspect standing over the victim while holding a knife.  Based on information from the witness, a composite sketch of the suspect was prepared.  The witness described the suspect as a white male, early 20's, 5'08" to 5'10", heavy build, big buttocks and wearing a black beanie cap.

Cesar Felix-HCSO Unsolved Homicide

STATUS: OPEN
Just after 2:00 a.m. on November 12, 2017, Hillsborough County deputies responded to a disturbance and discovered an unresponsive male laying in the roadway in front of 3302 Maple Mex Street in Wimauma.  The victim had been shot multiple times and died as a result of the injuries he sustained.  The victim has been identified as Cesar Felix, Hispanic male, 20 years of age, from Wimauma.  (See photo)  The unknown suspect(s) fled the area.

DuVaughn A. Shaheed-TPD Unsolved Homicide
November 11, 2017

STATUS: OPEN
On October 1, 2017 shortly after 1:00 a.m., two subjects asked the victims for a ride while they were at the Ybor Grocery located at 3401 North 15th Street in Tampa.  They traveled in the victim's 2003 4-door Ford Taurus, beige in color.  As they approached East 18th Avenue and North 17th Street, the driver was directed to pull over.  The suspects ordered the victims out of the car, forced them to remove their pants and lay on the ground at which time the suspects then shot both victims.  The suspects robbed the victims of their cash and personal property, then fled in the victim's vehicle, which was recovered by law enforcement the next day.  DuVaughn A. Shaheed, 55 yoa, died as a result of the injuries he sustained.  The second victim was seriously injured.
 
John Jarah Hicks III was arrested by detectives on October 5, 2017 and charged with Murder in the 1st Degree Felony Murder (Firearm), Attempted 1st Degree Felony Murder (Firearm) and other related charges.  Hicks was booked in Hillsborough County Jail under Booking #17036037.  Detectives are seeking information that would assist  with identifying the second suspect, who has been described as a black male, light complexion, tall, thin build and was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket and hat.
