HCSO Detectives Search for Suspect Involved in Hit and Run Fatality

STATUS: SOLVED
Sometime between October 29, 2017 at 10:00 p.m. and October 30, 2017 at 2:30 a.m., an unknown subject driving a pickup truck struck and killed a pedestrian while he was walking southbound on Orient Road just north of Hanna Avenue in Tampa.  Detectives believe the suspect vehicle is a full size pick up truck, green in color and is missing its passenger mirror. (See photo)  The victim has been identified as Mostafa Mohammed Abdalla, 19 years of age.  (See photo)

PCPD Detectives Investigate Vehicle Burglary Where Cash was Taken

STATUS: OPEN
On October 18, 2017 at approximately 10:30 a.m., a silver Chrysler minivan pulled into the Marathon gas station along side of a white Toyota Prius that was parked next to a gas pump.  The gas station is located at 2851 Thonotosassa Road West in Plant City.  While the victim was inside the store, a gold Nissan Quest can be seen on surveillance video stopping in front of both vehicles.  At the same time, the driver's side rear passenger door of the Chrysler minivan opens and a white or Hispanic male exits.  The suspect can be seen taking an object from the minivan, leaning over the Prius and using the object to break the rear passenger window of the car.  The suspect entered the victim's vehicle, took property which included a large amount of currency, then reenters the Chrysler minivan.  The suspect was wearing black gloves, a blue shirt, light colored pants, blue or dark shoes and a hat.  Detectives believe that occupants of both minivans participated in the crime together.  After the burglary, both vehicles leave the parking lot at the same time, heading toward Interstate 4.

TPD Detectives Work to Identify Second Homicide Suspect

STATUS: OPEN
On October 1, 2017 shortly after 1:00 a.m., two subjects asked the victims for a ride while they were at the Ybor Grocery located at 3401 North 15th Street in Tampa.  They traveled in the victim's 2003 4-door Ford Taurus, beige in color.  As they approached East 18th Avenue and North 17th Street, the driver was directed to pull over.  The suspects ordered the victims out of the car, forced them to remove their pants and lay on the ground at which time the suspects then shot both victims.  The suspects robbed the victims of their cash and personal property, then fled in the victim's vehicle, which was recovered by law enforcement the next day.  DuVaughn A. Shaheed, 55 yoa, died as a result of the injuries he sustained.  The second victim was seriously injured.
 
John Jarah Hicks III was arrested by detectives on October 5, 2017 and charged with Murder in the 1st Degree Felony Murder (Firearm), Attempted 1st Degree Felony Murder (Firearm) and other related charges.  Hicks was booked in Hillsborough County Jail under Booking #17036037.  Detectives are seeking information that would assist  with identifying the second suspect, who has been described as a black male, light complexion, tall, thin build and was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket and hat.

TPD Detectives Ask for Information in Woodlawn Terrace Homicide

On May 31, 2015 at approximately 4:20 p.m., TPD officers received a call about an injured teen at Woodlawn Terrace Park located at 6410 32nd Street North in Tampa.  The victim, Edward Harris III, 1/29/2001 died at a local hospital as a result of the injuries he sustained.  Detectives believe that Harris was shot by an unknown suspect(s) in a silver or grey 4-door vehicle.

Pasco Detectives Search for Shooting Suspect

On September 24, 2017 at 7:13 a.m., a shooting occurred at the Citgo gas station located at 20949 US Highway 98 in Trilby.  The suspect was observed firing rounds at an occupant of another vehicle from a blue 2-door vehicle.  The suspect is a white male with tattoos.

TPD Detectives Investigate Suspect Who Returned Stolen Items

On July 9, 2017 an unknown black male entered Tampa Humidor located at 1418 Busch Boulevard East in Tampa.  While inside, he selected lighters valued at approximately $121.00 then left the store without paying.  A short time later, the same suspect returned to the store and fraudulently returned the stolen items for a cash refund.

TPD Detectives Ask for Information in Early Morning Shooting

On September 17, 2017 shortly after 3:00 a.m., O'Shay Lewis was driving his vehicle southbound on Armenia Avenue near MLK Jr. Boulevard in Tampa.  Lewis and his friends had just attended a concert at the Palladium Bar located at 5305 Armenia Avenue North.  After Lewis stopped for the traffic light, a car pulled up next to his, at which time unknown suspect(s) shot at Lewis's vehicle.  O'Shay Lewis died as a result of the injuries he sustained and one of his friends who was a passenger was critically injured.  At this time the only vehicle description is that it was dark in color.  (Picture is of victim.)

TPD Detectives Want to Identify Skimmer Suspect

STATUS: OPEN
On September 1, 2017 two skimmers were found on each of the ATMs at the SunTrust Bank located at 1701 East 7th Avenue in Ybor City.  The skimmers were placed on the machines by an unknown white male at 7:12 p.m.  The suspect was captured on the surveillance video and was seen wearing a dark colored floppy hat and dark t-shirt.  The suspect returned at 9:38 p.m. and believed to be testing the skimmers by making a transaction.  Law enforcement believe the suspect may be either Hispanic or Middle Eastern, in his late 20's, medium build, black or brown hair cut low, a full beard and was wearing a white Armani Exchange shirt.

HCSO Detectives Work to Identify Pharmacy Burglary Suspects

STATUS: OPEN
Between September 10, 2017 at 10:24 p.m. and September 11, 2017 at 12:52 a.m., three suspects entered the CVS Pharmacy located at 5905 Highway 301 South in Riverview through the receiving door.  Once inside, the suspects loaded $1,305 worth of merchandise including diapers and shampoo into three shopping carts.  The suspects also took a large quantity of prescription medications.  The suspects were wearing all black clothing, gloves and face masks. One suspect was wearing a black jacket with a distinctive logo on the back.

HCSO Detectives Search for Suspects Who Took Over $38,000 in Dirt Bikes

On September 11, 2017 several unknown suspects entered the Tampa Bay Power Sports located at 13521 Florida Avenue North in Tampa after ramming the side of the business with an unknown type vehicle.  While inside, the suspects selected 7 dirt bikes valued at over $38,000 and took them from the store.  The suspects also caused damage to multiple motorcycles by pushing them over, breaking mirrors and tearing bumpers off.
