HCSO Detectives Investigate Riverview Vehicle Burglaries

STATUS: OPEN

On August 27, 2017 between 3:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., three unknown suspects entered several unlocked vehicles within the South Fork and Belmont Subdivisions in Riverview.  The suspects took personal property including checkbooks, sunglasses, credit cards, etc.  Law enforcement believe the suspects utilized a taxi service to leave the area as a stolen credit card was used to pay for the cab fee.  Surveillance video within the neighborhood captured the suspects trying a vehicle's door.
 
The suspects are described as:  #1 - black male, 15-18 yoa, 5'07", thin build, black hair with short twists and wearing a black t-shirt, black pants and black gloves.  #2 - white male, 15-18 yoa, 5'06", thin build, short hair and wearing a ball cap (possibly red) and gloves. #3 - Hispanic/white male, 15-18 yoa, 5'06", thin build, black curly hair and wearing Suede Super Puma shoes.

HCSO Detectives Investigate Robbery at Speedy Select

STATUS: ARRESTED

On August 27, 2017 at 10:16 p.m., two suspects entered the Speedy Select at 7712 Riverview Drive in Riverview while armed with handguns.  Suspect #1 pointed a silver revolver at the clerk while suspect #2 went behind the counter and emptied the cash drawer and took Cigarellos.  Suspect #2 displayed a black semi-automatic handgun.  Just before suspect #1 exited the store he fired one round at the clerk, missing him by inches.  Both suspects fled in a what is believed to be a silver or light color, 2000-2006 model Nissan Sentra, 4-door.  The suspects traveled southbound on 78th Street then eastbound on Riverview Drive.
 
Suspect #1 is described as a white or Hispanic male, thin build, approximately 5'06", wearing a black hoodie with red Nike logo, white t-shirt over his face, long black shorts, black shoes and carrying a silver revolver.  Suspect #2 is described as a white or Hispanic male, heavy set, approximately 5'10", wearing a black hoodie, black mask, black pants, red/black/blue shoes, backpack and carrying a black semi-automatic handgun.

New Port Richey Detectives Search for Suspect Using Distraction Technique to Steal Cash

STATUS: OPEN
On August 19, 2017 at approximately 4:28 p.m., an unknown white female entered the Publix located at 5127 US Highway 19 in New Port Richey, approached the Customer Service counter and asked for change of six (6) $100 bills with all $20 bills.  The suspect used a distraction technique while asking for all $50 bills.  As the clerk turned to comply with the request, the suspect reached over the counter taking $600 of money belonging to Publix.  Detectives believe this suspect used the same technique to take money at another Publix in Pasco County on the same day.  The suspect is described as a white female, early 20's, thin build, dark hair and wearing dark clothing.  The suspect might be traveling with a Hispanic male, early 20's.  Both subjects were traveling in a dark colored mini van with a temporary tag.

TPD Detectives Investigate Subway Robbery

STATUS: IN CUSTODY
On August 26, 2017 at 8:19 p.m., an unknown Hispanic male entered the Subway located at 5502 Dale Mabry Highway South in Tampa, ordered a sandwich, then proceeded to the register.  The suspect retrieved a syringe from his pocket, approached an employee and threatened to use the syringe while demanding cash.  After receiving cash from the register, the suspect fled the business.  The suspect was caught on surveillance video and is described as a white male, 19-24 yoa, 6', dark hair, wearing dark rim prescription glasses, a black t-shirt with a white logo on the left front and large white writing on the back and dark shorts.  The suspect has tattoos on his right forearm.

HCSO Detectives Investigate Robbery of Necklace

STATUS: OPEN
On August 19, 2017 at approximately 6:30 a.m., an unknown black male approached the victim in the parking lot of the Marathon gas station located at 1444 Fletcher Avenue East in Tampa.  The suspect ripped off the victim's necklace and fled on a dark colored bicycle north on 15th Street North.  The suspect was described as a black male, 22-29 yoa, approximately 5'10" to 6'0", 190-215 lbs., shoulder length dreadlocks and was wearing a white tank top, long jean shorts and black sandals.

Pasco Detectives Ask for Information from the Public In Identifying Home Invasion Suspect

On August 23, 2017 at approximately 12:45 p.m., an unknown suspect entered the residence at 26748 Magnolia Boulevard in Wesley Chapel while armed with a firearm.  The suspect struck the elderly victim who sustained non-life threatening injuries.  The suspect took firearms, credit cards and prescription medication from the residence.  The suspect is described as a black male, 25-30 yoa, muscular build and was wearing a polo shirt and carrying a black backpack.  (See composite sketch of the suspect.)

TPD Detectives Work to Identify Shooting Suspects

STATUS: OPEN
On August 18, 2017 at approximately 8:54 p.m., the victim was walking home from the Mobile gas station located at 4242 Busch Boulevard East in Tampa when he observed a 2000's model Nissan Sentra, white in color, with tinted windows and a spoiler, circle the block several times.  Once the victim reached the 9600 block of Connechusett Road North, the occupants exited the vehicle and fired at the victim, striking him in the hand.  The suspects fled in the vehicle southbound on Connechusett Road.  Surveillance video captured at the Mobile gas station show the two suspects and the suspect vehicle.  
 
Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic male, mid 20's, approximately 5'07", 150 lbs. and Suspect #2 is described as a black male, mid 20's, approximately 6'0", 175 lbs., dreadlocks, goatee and possibly has a tattoo on the right side of his neck and his left forearm.

Pasco Detectives Investigate Robbery at Cleaners

On August 19, 2017 at 1:10 p.m., a masked male entered the Quality Plus Cleaners located at 1950 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in Wesley Chapel while armed with pepper spray.  The suspect was described as a black male, 18-20 yoa, 5'05"-5'06", 125-130 lbs., thin build, black curly spiked hair on top and shaved on the sides and was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, gray sweats, black shoes and had a blue bandanna covering his face from the nose down.  The suspect took the cash register drawer containing cash and fled on foot.

HCSO Detectives Search for Suspects Breaking into Numerous Vehicles in Riverview

STATUS: SOLVED
Between August 6, 2017 at approximately 5:00 p.m. and August 7, 2017 at approximately 7:15 a.m., an unknown white male entered the victim's vehicle and took a gold and silver watch.  Detectives believe this same suspect, along with another unknown suspect, entered numerous vehicles within the Summerfield Subdivision.  The suspects used a garage door opener taken from an unlocked vehicle to enter the garage at 11506 Village Brook Drive in Riverview.  While the residents were sleeping, the suspects took a black, 2.5hp Monster Moto youth motor bike and fled the area.
 
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 17-22 yoa, approximately 5'10", 210 lbs. and was last seen wearing a "Thumbs Up" t-shirt, cargo shorts, dark "RTIC cooler" hat, high top sneakers and carrying a backpack.

HCSO Detectives Ask for Information from the Public in Hit and Run Fatality

STATUS: OPEN
On July 18, 2017 at 10:38 p.m., Sherry Hunter, 61 years of age, a pedestrian, was crossing Waters Avenue West just east of Wilsky Boulevard when she was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Waters Avenue.  Detectives have developed leads identifying the suspect vehicle as a 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, silver in color, which should have damage on the right front.  Sherry Hunter died at the scene as a result of the injuries she sustained.  Photos of vehicle are not of the actual suspect vehicle.
