Law Enforcement Search for Offer Up Robbery Suspect (2016/07/12)

STATUS: SOLVED

The Tampa Police Department and Hillsborough County Sheriff`s Office are investigating two recent robbery cases where a female victim posted an advertisement for the sale of an electronics item on the Offer Up site was robbed during the transaction.   

 

On July 5, 2016 an unknown subject responded to an advertisement that was placed on the Offer Up site for the sale of an iPad.  Two-way communication with the interested party transpired via text messaging at which time they agreed to meet to conduct the transaction.  At approximately 8:30 p.m., both parties met at 17004 Palm Point Drive in Tampa.  The seller approached the purchaser who was seated in a silver Cadillac, (possibly a CTS or STS) while holding the iPad as they discussed the transaction.  The purchaser requested to hold the iPad while he claimed to verify the serial number via his smart phone.  While the female victim was holding the iPad it sat rested on the door frame of the male suspect`s open window.  The suspect suddenly grabbed the iPad valued at over $1,000 out of the victim`s hands and fled in his vehicle.  The suspect was described as a black male (see photo).

 

On July 4, 2016 an unknown subject responded to an advertisement on the Offer Up site for an iPhone 6+ that was for sale.  Both parties engaged in text messaging and agreed to meet at  5013 Bordeaux Village Place in Tampa.  At approximately 7:41 p.m., while standing at the rear of the vehicle, the seller allowed the purchaser to hold the phone as he requested to verify his chip worked.  The purchaser sat in his vehicle with the door open at which time he backed up, ultimately striking the victim knocking her to the ground.  The suspect fled with the iPhone valued at approximately $750.00 towards Fletcher Avenue in a silver or gray Cadillac STS 4-door vehicle.  The suspect was described as a dark skinned black male in his 20`s, 5`10" to 6`0", 140-150 lbs., very skinny, short black hair and last seen wearing a black hoodie, black shorts with a white stripe down the side, socks and slides.

HCSO Deputies Search for Liquor Thieves (2016/07/12)

On July 2, 2016 at approximately 7:18 p.m., three black females entered the Grapevine Liquor store located at 8969 Racetrack Road in Tampa.  While suspect #2 distracted the clerk, the other two suspects removed multiple bottles of alcohol from the shelf and concealed the bottles in their purses.  All three suspects left the store without paying for the items (Ciroc, Grand Marnier, Patrol and Cognac) valued at $374.00.

 

Suspect #1 is described as a black female, 30`s, short black hair and wearing a plaid long sleeve shirt and blue jean skirt.

Suspect #2 is described as a black female, 20`s, black hair in a pony tail and wearing a gray Victoria Secret shirt with "Pink" on the front.

Suspect #3 is described as a black female, 20`s, black and blonde curly hair and wearing a green dress.

HCSO Detectives Ask for Information on Home Invasion (2016/07/12)

On July 11, 2016 at approximately 11:06 p.m., three armed male suspects approached a mobile home within a mobile home park at 219 Bywater Drive in Tampa.  The suspects confronted the occupants who were both inside and outside of the mobile home.  Amari Martinez, 25 yoa, was shot while inside the mobile home and died as a result of his injuries.

NPR Detectives Search for Bank Robbery Suspect (2016/07/11)

On July 8, 2016 at 1:56 p.m., an unknown male entered the Wells Fargo Bank located at 6604 Massachusetts Avenue in New Port Richey, approached a teller and demanded money.  The suspect fled the bank on foot in an unknown direction with cash received.  The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, 5`05" to 5`09", early to late 20`s, tall and last seen wearing a white/blue striped long sleeve shirt and long pants.

TPD Detectives Attempt to ID Fraud Suspect (2016/07/07)

STATUS: CLOSED

During the evening of June 29, 2016, the victim`s vehicle was broke into while it was parked at the Travel Lodge Motel at 2901 Busch Boulevard East in Tampa and items were taken.  At approximately 1:00 a.m., an unknown female with two small children used a stolen credit card to purchase $773 worth of items at the Walmart located at 8885 Florida Avenue North in Tampa.  The female is described as being 5`04" to 5`06" and 130-140 lbs.

TPD Detectives Want to Identify Suspects Using Stolen Credit Card (2016/07/07)

On July 5, 2016 unknown suspect(s) entered the victim`s vehicle while it was parked at 10214 Lola Street in Tampa and removed a wallet.  One hour later, unknown female suspects used a stolen credit card at the Wawa and Champs Sports in University Mall.  The pictured black females and a tall black male juvenile with hair twists were caught on surveillance video using the stolen credit card.  The suspects fled in a maroon Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Town & Country with alloy rims.

Suspect 1:  black female, glasses, braids pulled up on top of her head and last seen wearing a blue half shirt, multi-colored stretch pants and Nike sneakers.

Suspect 2:  black female, glasses and last seen wearing a black tank top and black shorts.

HCSO Detectives Search for Burglary Suspects (2016/07/07)

On July 2, 2016 at 2:58 a.m., two unknown black males entered into the victim`s residence at 313 Summer Clouds Place in Brandon through a rear window.  During the burglary the victims were asleep upstairs.  The suspects removed property from the residence along with the victim`s red, 2015 Ford Escape bearing FL tag 897 TIW.

 

The black male suspects are described as being between 5`06" and 5`10", 155 to 175 lbs. and last seen wearing t-shirts, shorts and sneakers.

On July 6, 2016 at approximately 10:30 a.m., according to witnesses, an unknown male shot Marquette Dames, 24 yoa, near Fowler Avenue and 15th Street in Tampa.  The victim was taken to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.  The suspect, described as black male with a medium build.  The suspect fled on the below pictured bicycle which was later discarded.

On July 4, 2016 at approximately 11:00 a.m., an unknown black male entered the victim`s residence in the 800 block of Bayside Drive South in Tampa.  The suspect took a 2x2 black metal safe from the bedroom which contained three firearms.  While fleeing through the backyard, the suspect was startled by the victim.  The suspect fled southwest on Bayside Drive in a white pick-up truck, possible a 2000`s Toyota Tundra.  The suspect was described as a black male, 30-35 yoa, 6`01", 220 lbs., having a short black afro and was last seen wearing a black button-up short sleeve shirt and black pants.

HCSO Detectives Look for Home Burglary Suspects (2016/07/06)

On June 24, 2016 at 4:50 a.m., two unknown suspects entered the victim`s residence in the 1600 block of Prowmore Drive in Brandon while the victim was sleeping.  The suspects entered the residence through an unsecured kitchen window and once inside they took a 60" television, laptop and purse then fled out the sliding glass door.  The suspects were caught on surveillance video attempting to open doors to other residences and vehicles in the neighborhood.  The suspects may have used an unknown type crossover or SUV style vehicle.

 

The suspects are described as black or Hispanic males, between 5`06" and 5`10", 155 to 175 lbs., wearing t-shirts, shorts, and one wearing white shoes and the other wearing black shoes.  The suspects are believed to have fled in a dark station wagon.

HCSO Detectives Work to Identify Robbery Suspects (2016/07/06)

On June 30, 2016 at approximately 5:10 p.m., as three male juveniles were sitting in a car at the Heather Lakes Park in Brandon, an unknown mid 2000`s, gold Lincoln 4-door parked behind them.  An unknown white male wearing a black and/or white mask or bandanna over his face exited with a shotgun.  A mid 2000`s, black Honda Accord, (possibly a 4-door) with black painted hubcaps and tinted windows parked behind the juveniles.  An unknown Hispanic male exited wearing a black and/or blue bandanna.  The two suspects opened the left rear door of the juvenile`s vehicle and began striking the victim with their hands and the stock of the shotgun.  The suspects forcibly removed the rear passenger`s wallet containing cash.  The suspects chased the front passenger as he fled on foot towards the shopping plaza at the southeast corner of Lumsden Road and Providence Road.  The suspects followed the victim into a business and struck him several times before fleeing in the Honda and Lincoln.  The Lincoln was occupied by an unknown Hispanic female who possibly had faded red dyed hair and appeared to be armed with a black handgun.  The Honda was also occupied by an unknown black male.

 

The white male is in his mid 20`s, 5`08" to 5`09", thin build, short dark hair, thin goatee, gold on lower teeth and was last seen wearing a blue baseball hat and cut off jeans. (Driver of gold Lincoln)  The Hispanic male is in his mid 20`s, 5`06" to 5`07", medium build, short dark hair, facial stubble, piercing in one or both eyebrows and possibly in his tongue and was last seen wearing light colored shorts and a dark shirt. PCPD Ask for Information on Homicide (2016/07/05)

On August 29, 2016 a composite sketch of the unknown homicide suspect was released.  He was described as a Hispanic male with dark hair.

 

On July 2, 2016 at 9:47 p.m. the Plant City Police Department received a 911 call regarding an injured subject in the 1600 block of Warren Street East in Plant City.  A black male was found lying in the roadway with upper body trauma.  The victim was identified as Antowion Alton Dixon, 43 yoa, died as a result of his injuries. 

 

At 9:56 p.m. another 911 call was received from a white male who advised he had been shot.  The victim was taken to the hospital with at least one wound to the abdomen.

PCPD Detectives Work to Identify Walmart Money Center Robber (2016/07/01)

On June 30, 2016 at 3:45 p.m. and unknown black male demanded money from the teller at the Walmart Money Center at 2602 James L. Redman Parkway in Plant City.  After receiving the cash the suspect fled on foot.  The suspect is described as a black male, in his late twenties to early thirties, 6`, thin build, thin beard, having a tattoo on his upper chest and was last seen wearing a black tank top, blue shorts and a green baseball hat worn backwards.

HCSO Detectives Search for Knife Wielding Robber (2016/06/30)

On June 28, 2016 at approximately 3:30 a.m., the victim parked his Jeep in his garage along Circa Crossing Drive in Riverview and as he exited he heard a door close.  As the victim looked up he saw a Hispanic male walking towards him while armed with a carpet knife.  The suspect demanded the keys to the Jeep then slashed the knife at the victim when he refused.  The suspect struck the victim in the abdomen however the victim was able to fight off the suspect.  The suspect entered the front passenger seat of an awaiting late model Hyundai, 4-door sedan and fled the area. 

 

The Hispanic male suspect is believed to be 18-23 yoa, 5`09" to 5`11", 180-190 lbs., medium build, tan complexion, no facial hair, hair was in short corn rows and he was last seen wearing a baggy white t-shirt, dark shorts and black high-top sneakers.

TPD Officers Search for Auto Burglary Suspects (2016/06/28)

Between June 16-17, 2016, two male suspects are believed to have committed multiple auto burglaries in the North Tampa Estates and Lowry Park neighborhoods.  Video surveillance showed two males, possibly teens, trying door handles and entering those vehicles they found to be unlocked.  The cars entered were on Newport Avenue and North Boulevard in Tampa.

HCSO Deputies Work to Identify Lawn Equipment Thieves (2016/06/28)

On June 27, 2016 at 3:30 a.m., three unknown subjects entered the property at 120 Knights Avenue in Brandon.  They removed a wheelbarrow full of lawn equipment, a plastic box of assorted power tools, bag of golf clubs and a water purifying system valued at a total of $500.  The suspects used a light color over dark Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 SUV to steal the property.  The suspects were described as white males, ranging between 5`08" and 6"0" and 30-40 years of age.

HCSO Deputies Search for Beauty Shop Theft Suspects (2016/06/27)

On June 14, 2016 at 4:12 p.m., two black females entered the Eliana Beauty Shop located at 19651 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and worked together to distract the owner while they concealed items in their purses.  The suspects took two packages of Hair Tracks valued at $120 and a wig valued at $500.  The suspects fled southbound in a newer model, red Chrysler 300.

TPD Detectives Ask for Information on Shooter of Stray Bullet (2016/06/24)

STATUS: SOLVED

On June 23, 2016 at approximately 9:45 p.m. near Jefferson Street North and Columbus Drive East in Tampa, a group of youths engaged in a dispute.  A shot was fired nearby that was believed to be intended for a teen who was riding his bicycle on Columbus Drive.  Maria J. Rivera-Contreras, 57 yoa, was inside a vehicle with family members and was backing out to travel onto Columbus Drive after delivering food when she was struck by a stray bullet.  Ms. Rivera-Contreras died as a result of her injuries.

 

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is offering a reward of up to $15,000 in addition to Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay’s reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the individual(s) and recovery of the firearm(s) used in the murder of Maria J. Rivera-Contreras.

HCSO Detectives Want to Identify Vehicle Burglary Suspects (2016/06/23)

On June 21, 2016 at 5:40 a.m., two black male suspects approached the victim at 3310 Pine Top Drive in Valrico as she got into her vehicle.  The suspects wanted the victim to exit her vehicle however she refused.  As the victim was backing out of the driveway one of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim.  The suspects are described as being 14-18 years of age and were both last seen wearing dark, long-sleeved hooded shirts. 

 

Detectives believe that these suspects are responsible for multiple vehicle burglaries that were reported in the same neighborhood during that timeframe.  Video surveillance from a home security system shows a third black male, 14-18 years of age, assisting with the burglaries and a driver waiting in a 2015-2016, white, 4-door Ford Fusion.

HCSO Deputies Looking for Suspects Firing BB Gun from Vehicle (2016/06/23)

On June 18, 2016 at approximately 5:50 p.m., a silver, newer model minivan, occupied by three males, passed the victim who was outside her home on Sycamore Drive in Tampa.  As the vehicle passed, three BB/Pellet projectiles were fired.  One of the projectiles struck the victim in the arm.  The vehicle was traveling northbound on Williams Road approaching Clay Pit Road as the suspects yelled and laughed.  Earlier the same day at approximately 5:20 p.m., a similar incident occurred at Highway 92 East and Garden Lane.

 

On June 20, 2016 at 3:23 p.m. at Parsons Avenue and Highway 92 East and at 3:46 p.m. at 2124 Brandon Boulevard West similar incidents occurred.
