TPD Detectives Search for Pickup Truck Used in Hit and Run
March 22, 2018

STATUS: OPEN
On March 18, 2018 at approximately 1:38 a.m., the victim was riding his bicycle within the designated bicycle lane westbound on Cleveland Street near Westland Avenue South in Tampa.  He was struck from behind by a newer silver full size pickup truck, possibly a Ford F150, throwing him from the bicycle.  The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.  The suspect vehicle fled the scene.  The truck had a Tonneau style cover on the bed and step rails on the side.

Pasco Detectives Release Composite Sketch of Robbery Suspect

STATUS: OPEN
On March 13, 2018 at approximately 12:30 p.m., a black male entered Kay Jewelers and spoke to the victim about an engagement ring for his girlfriend.  The subject asked to see a 1.01 ct round brilliant diamond ring set in white 14kt gold.  As the victim was holding the ring to show, the suspect reached and snatched it from the victim's grasp.  The suspect utilized an emergency exit next to the store to flee the area.  The suspect is described as a black male, late 20's to early 30's, approximately 5'11", medium build, wearing a tan zip up jacket with no hood, blue jeans and a tan baseball hat.

TPD Detectives Work to Identify Driver in Hit & Run Fatality
March 19, 2018

STATUS: CAPTURED
On March 17, 2018 at 12:22 p.m. an unknown subject was driving a white Honda Civic westbound in the 4000 block of Hillsborough Avenue West in Tampa.  Witnesses observed the vehicle leave the roadway and hit a sign, an electrical box and then hit the victim, who was identified as Felix De la Uz, 11/30/1937.  The victim died as a result of the injuries he sustained.  The vehicle came to rest 500 ft later.  The driver and passenger fled the vehicle on foot.  They were caught on surveillance video leaving the scene between businesses.  The suspect driver is described as a white/Hispanic male, 5'04", last seen wearing a white tank top, dark shorts and dark shoes.  The passenger is described as a white female, 5'04", blonde hair, last seen wearing a green shirt and jeans.

HCSO Detectives Ask for Information on Family Dollar Robbery

On January 28, 2018 at approximately 8:57 p.m., an unknown male entered the Family Dollar located at 509 Brandon Boulevard East armed with a black handgun.  The suspect demanded money from the clerk and received cash from the register.  The suspect fled the store in an unknown direction.  The suspect was described as a black male, 5'10"-6', wearing a black jacket, black pants, black/red gloves and a black face mask.

HCSO Detectives Attempt to Identify Burglary Suspect

On February 15, 2018 at approximately 5:35 p.m. an unknown Hispanic or light skinned black male forcibly entered the residence at 1316 Zellwood Drive in Brandon.  The suspect took a Ruger P89 DC semi-automatic handgun, 2 black Smith & Wesson revolvers, a Blue Burst Electric Guitar and 480 gold one-dollar coins.  Home surveillance cameras captured the suspect as he fled the residence.  The suspect is described as 5'10", 160-170 lbs., thin build, short black hair, mustache and goatee and was seen wearing a dark shirt, dark baseball cap, dark pants and black latex gloves.

HCSO Detectives Look for Suspect in Road Rage Incident

STATUS: OPEN
On February 26, 2018 at 5:24 a.m., the victim and suspect were engaged in a road rage incident.  The victim entered the parking lot to the Wawa located at 16620 Highway 301 South in Wimauma.  The suspect stopped his vehicle next to the victim and pointed a handgun at her through his window and drove away.  Approximately two minutes later, the suspect parked behind the victim and threatened to shoot her. 
 
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 40-45 yoa, curly blonde shoulder length hair, side burns, goatee and wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and a blue hat.  The suspect was driving an older model gray Jeep Grand Cherokee, lifted with black rims.

HCSO Detectives Investigate Business Robbery

STATUS: OPEN
On February 27, 2018 at approximately 9:15 p.m., two unknown males entered the Marathon gas station located at 2704 College Avenue East in Ruskin.  One suspect pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the register.  The suspect placed the cash into a gray fanny pack.  The suspects fled on foot northbound from the store.  Both suspects are described as unknown race males, wearing a black mask and black hooded sweatshirt.  One suspect was wearing light blue jeans and red/white sneakers and the second suspect was wearing dark blue jeans and black sneakers.

HCSO Detectives Attempt to Identify Fraud Suspects Targeting Elderly Victims

STATUS: OPEN
On February 27, 2018 at 12:15 p.m., two unknown males engaged in conversation with an elderly female victim who was waiting for a bus at 803 Waters Avenue West in Tampa.  This caused her to miss the bus so they offered to take her home.  During the ride, the subjects convinced the victim to withdraw an undisclosed amount of cash from her account at the Bank of America located at 3439 Hillsborough Avenue West, in an effort to help them collect their "lottery money".  The suspects took the victim to the Dollar Tree at 6303 Waters Avenue West where they asked her to make a purchase for them.  When the victim came back outside, the suspects fled the area in a Nissan Rogue, maroon in color, taking the victim's cash.
 
This incident is similar to one that occurred on February 16, 2018 at approximately 4:00 p.m. at the Publix located at 2724 Hillsborough Avenue West in Tampa.  Two unknown males approached an elderly female victim while she was loading groceries into her vehicle.  The victim agreed to help the men who stated they needed money to get a car fixed but had lottery money coming.  The victim accompanied them to Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union located at 7250 Sheldon Road where she withdrew money from her account.  The subjects drove the victim to Big Lots at 7565 Hillsborough Avenue West and advised her to go inside and buy herself a drink.  Once the victim exited the store she realized the suspects had left the area in a blue 4-door sedan with her money.
 
The suspects are described as a Hispanic male, 50-60 yoa, wearing a white shirt, black pants, black shoes and a black hat.  The second suspect is a Hispanic male, approximately 35 yoa, wearing a black shirt, khaki pants, black shoes and a black hat.  In both cases the second suspect was described as speaking with a "Puerto Rican accent".  Photos are of suspects in February 27th case.

On February 24, 2018 at 3:40 p.m., a female adult victim was walking westbound on the Northdale Lake Park trail in Lutz approaching the end of the trail into her neighborhood.  As the victim started to exit the trail, an unknown male attacked her from behind and threw her to the ground.  The suspect was able to remove the victim's shorts and then flee eastbound on the trail while holding the victim's shorts over his head.  
 
The suspect is described as a white male, 25-30 yoa, 5'10", 200-230 lbs., stocky build, brown hair, last seen wearing a "Columbia" style short sleeve button up shirt, khaki shorts, black Nike athletic shoes, two-toned baseball cap and mirrored aviator style sunglasses.

Tampa PD Detectives Release Composite Sketch of Battery Suspect

STATUS: OPEN
On February 20, 2018 at 7:30 a.m., an unknown male was standing outside the men's restroom on the first floor of the Marriott located at 1001 Westshore Boulevard North in Tampa.  The victim entered the women's restroom and while she was at the sink she noticed in the mirror the same male was now standing behind her.   He was staring at the victim and stated he was in the wrong bathroom.  The suspect threatened the victim with a knife and a struggle ensued.  The victim was able to key up an employee radio and scream.  The suspect released the victim and fled.  
 
The suspect is described as a Hispanic or black male, light complexion, approximately 6'02"-6'03", unknown weight, solid pot belly, no facial hair, short black curly hair and no accent.  The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweat jacket zipped up, blue jeans that were faded in the thigh area and had brown dirt stains and neon yellow gloves with black palms and fingers.

Pasco Detectives Investigate Attempt Robbery at Circle K

On February 21, 2018 at approximately 1:35 p.m., two persons entered the Circle K/Shell gas station located at 27707 Wesley Chapel Boulevard.  One subject, wearing a black jacket and tan long shorts, walked behind the counter and pushed passed the clerk while ignoring the clerk tell them they could not be in that area.  A struggle ensued between the clerk and the subject when the second subject, wearing a red hoodie covering most of the face, leaned over the counter and gave directions to the first subject.  A weapon was not seen during the altercation.  Both subjects fled in separate vehicles, a red 4-door vehicle and a grey SUV.  The suspects did not take anything during the incident.

PCPD Detectives Search for Suspect Using Machete to Commit a Robbery

On February 20, 2018 at 2:52 a.m., an unknown white male entered the Circle K gas station at 1514 Alexander Street South in Plant City while armed with a machete and demanded money from the store clerks.  The suspect is described as 5'06", thin build, wearing a black hooded sweater that zips up the front, black pants and shoes, a black headband with a green marijuana leaf on the front and a black bandanna covering his face.  After receiving the cash the suspect fled the store on foot.

Tampa PD Detectives Work to Identify Suspects Using Stolen Credit Cards

On January 18, 2018 between 9:00 a.m. and 11:52 a.m., an unknown suspect damaged the driver's door lock of a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu that was parked at the LA Fitness located at 6411 County Line Road East in Tampa.  The suspect entered the vehicle and took a wallet containing credit cards.  Two stolen cards were used to make purchases at the Walgreens at 20741 Bruce B Downs Boulevard and Target at 1201 County Road 581.  An unknown black male and black female were caught on surveillance video making the fraudulent credit card purchases.  The suspects left the area in a unknown make/model sedan that was captured on store surveillance video while leaving the parking lot.

Pasco Detectives Seek the Public's Assistance to Help Identify Violent Home Invasion Suspect

On February 19, 2018 at approximately 8:17 a.m., a 71 yoa victim entered a residence on Heather Street in New Port Richey to check on the home.  The victim was met by an unknown male who was armed with a handgun with a red or orange tip.  The suspect sexually battered the victim then fled at approximately 10:00 a.m. walking northbound on Heather Street.  The suspect is described as a Hispanic or black male, 25-35 yoa, approximately 6', thin goatee, scar on his right forearm, two tattoos on his chest, one that reads "DORTHA".   The suspect told the victim his name is Kevin.

HCSO Detectives Look for Robbery Suspect Wearing Surgeon's Mask

On February 15, 2018 at approximately 9:54 p.m. a black male entered the Dollar General located at 459 Brandon Boulevard West and demanded money from the store clerk while displaying a black firearm.  The suspect took the employee's Google Pixel cell phone and the cash from the register then fled eastbound.  The suspect is described as a black male, 6'02" to 6'04", heavy build, wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants, white t-shirt, baseball hat with a red bill and white/blue on the cap, a white surgeon's mask and carrying a black and gray drawstring bag.

TPD Detectives Investigate Pattern of Business Burglaries

STATUS: OPEN
On January 4, 2018 at 2:31 a.m., two unknown subjects used a brick paver to smash the front door to The Cut Barbershop located at 902 Busch Boulevard West in Tampa.  After gaining entry, the suspects removed an ATM and fled in a Volkswagen Passat.  Law enforcement has recovered the stolen ATM.
 
On February 14, 2018 at 2:24 a.m., two unknown subjects used a long metal pry tool to force open the front door to The Sprint store located at 5004 Fowler Avenue East in Tampa.  Once they entered the store, the suspects immediately went to the pay station at the rear of the store but they were unable to take anything from it.  The suspects took a bluetooth speaker from the display and fled in a Volkswagen Passat. 
 
Detectives believe the same two suspects are responsible for both burglaries.  The suspects are covering their bodies with dark clothing to deter identification.  The suspect vehicle used in both burglaries is described as a white, 2014-2015 model Volkswagen Passat, which was caught on surveillance video.

Pasco Detectives Search for Port Richey Shooting Suspect(s)

On February 14, 2018 at approximately 5:55 p.m., unknown suspect(s) fired multiple rounds into the victim's vehicle at 6353 Ridge Crest Drive in Port Richey striking one victim and grazing another.  The suspect is described as a white male, having a pierced eyebrow, no facial hair and wearing a blue hat and dark clothing.  The suspect is believed to be driving a black, older model Mazda 4-door with no hubcaps and black rims.  One suspect vehicle was caught on area surveillance video and was last seen heading east on Ridge Crest Drive.

An arrest warrant for Robbery has been issued for Warren Latis Maxwell, 11/14/1979.
 
On February 13, 2018 at approximately 2:04 p.m., a black male entered the Wells Fargo bank located at 12233 Florida Avenue North in Tampa.  The suspect approached a teller, implied he had a weapon and demanded cash.  Once he received the currency, the suspect fled the bank on foot heading in a southbound direction.  The suspect is described as a black male, mid 30's, 6', 180 lbs. and wearing a tan long sleeve dress shirt, brown pants and sunglasses.

Pasco Detectives Ask for Information to Help Identify Suspect Believed to Have Robbed 3 Stores in 3 Days

STATUS: IN CUSTODY
On February 8, 2018 at approximately 9:00 p.m., an unknown white male entered the Citgo Gas Station located at 29741 State Road 54 in Wesley Chapel armed with a silver and black handgun and demanded cash.  The suspect was wearing all black clothing and carrying a brown bag or purse.  The suspect fled the store with cash.
 
On February 8, 2018 at approximately 10:30 p.m. an unknown white male entered the Best Western Hotel located at 5639 Oakley Boulevard in Wesley Chapel armed with a silver and black handgun and demanded cash.  The suspect fired a shot near the victim, who was not injured.  The suspect fled with cash and was seen driving a dark colored 4-door vehicle.
 
On February 10, 2018 at approximately 8:00 p.m., an unknown white male entered the Metro PCS located at 6947 Gall Boulevard in Zephyrhills armed with a black handgun and demanded cash.  The suspect fired a shot in the store.  No one was injured.  The suspect was seen wearing black Nike shoes with a white "Swoosh" and a white trim on the bottom.  The suspect fled the store with cash.
 
Detectives believe that one suspect is responsible for these armed robberies.  The suspect is described as a white male, 5'06"-5'10", in his 20's to early 30's, thin build, light colored hair and was wearing a black mask, black long sleeve shirt, dark jeans and black gloves.  The suspect possibly has a colored tattoo on the rear left side of his neck.  
 
The suspect should be considered Armed & Dangerous.

HCSO Detectives Search for Home Invasion Suspects

On February 4, 2018 at approximately 10:50 p.m., two black males armed with rifles entered a residence on Stoner Road in Riverview through the back door.  One suspect ordered the victims to get down and held them at gunpoint while they demanded property and cash.  One suspect discharged his rifle inside the residence striking a door.  Both suspects fled the residence with property and cash, then left the area in an unknown make vehicle. 
 
A debit card taken during the robbery was used at the Walmart located at 2701 Fletcher Avenue just hours after the robbery by an unknown black male and black female.  The suspects were caught on store surveillance video and are described as a black male, 20-30's, 5'07"-5'10", 160-180 lbs., goatee and wearing a blue checkered jacket and white pants.  The black female is in her 20-30's, 5'06"-5'08, 120-140 lbs., glasses and wearing a multi-colored dress and gray jacket.  The suspects left the store in an SUV, possibly a Dodge Durango.
