On July 31, 2022 at 4:00 p.m., an unknown black male entered the Sunglass Hut within the Citrus Park Mall where he took several sunglasses valued at over $6,000. Shortly after, the suspect left the mall with the stolen sunglasses.

HCSO Detectives Work to Identify Bank Robber
August 16, 2022

STATUS: SOLVED
On August 15, 2022, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a male suspect entered the Truist Bank located at 11015 Causeway Blvd, in Brandon. The suspect handed the teller a note demanding cash. After which, he fled on foot towards the back of the bank. The suspect was captured on surveillance video and is described as a white male wearing a red, white and blue Columbia hat, a dark-colored shirt, white or light-colored shorts and white shoes. He also had on gold-rimmed, Aviator style sunglasses.

Anonymous Donor Contributes to Raise Reward in Early Morning Hit N Run Fatality
August 16, 2022

STATUS: OPEN
On June 27, 2022 between 4:10 a.m. and 4:40 a.m., an unknown make/model vehicle was traveling northbound on Morris Bridge Road between Fletcher Avenue and Fowler Avenue in Temple Terrace. At 12110 Morris Bridge Road, in front of Promise Pointe at Tampa Oaks, a driver struck a pedestrian. Investigators believe the victim may have been hit a second time by another unknown make/model vehicle. The elderly male victim died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
 
Area video surveillance has revealed possible descriptions of the vehicles believed to of been involved in the Fatal Hit N Run. Vehicle 1 is described as a dark color SUV, possibly a Jeep Wrangler. Vehicle 2 is described as a light colored sedan, possibly white or silver. The shape of the vehicle resembles a Lincoln Town car or Cadillac Brougham. The rear of the vehicle has a high mount stop light. Both vehicles have glass headlights and were traveling northbound on Morris Bridge Road.

PSO Detectives Work To Identify Apologetic Robber

STATUS: OPEN
Update 8/29/22:  The suspect has been identified as Lenareus Vaval, 9/10/98. An arrest warrant has been issued for Armed Robbery.
 
On August 10, 2022 at approx. 10:15 a.m., an unknown black male entered the Check N Go located at 7205 State Road 54 in New Port Richey while armed with a hand gun (semi-automatic). He approached the clerk, demanded cash and gave instructions to the victim to place the money into a red back back. Once he received the cash, the suspect fled the location on foot. As was leaving, the suspect said "sorry". The robbery was captured on surveillance video. The suspect is believed to be in his early 20's, 5'8" to 5'10" and approx. 130 to 150 lbs.

Reward Increased to up to $9,500 to Help Solve Murder Near Robles Park

On July 5, 2022, 61 year-old Richard Martin was found in the 3100 block of N. Elmore Avenue, alongside Robles Park in Tampa. Martin was inside his truck at the time he was killed. Detectives believe he died between July 1st and July 5th.

HCSO Detectives Search for Home Invasion Suspects Who Entered Wrong Apartment

On August 2, 2022, shortly before 7:00 p.m., in the 5300 block of Archstone Dr. in Tampa, an adult and 2 minors were inside their residence when 2 unknown suspects armed with firearms entered. While the 2 suspects were searching the apartment, a 3rd suspect approached and stated "wrong apartment". All 3 suspects were described as black males, teenage with dreadlocks. The suspects fled together in a newer modle Infiniti with tinted windows and black rims.

FHP Troopers Search for Driver Who Fled Crash with Bicyclist

On July 31, 2022 at 8:30 a.m., Troopers were notified of a crash involving a bicyclist on Scenic Drive, north of Jasmine Boulevard in Port Richey. The crash is believed to of occurred either Friday or Saturday. The 45-year-old Hudson man had been struck by a vehicle and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The unidentified suspect vehicle fled the scene following the crash. Investigators believe the vehicle is a 2014-2015 Kia Sorento, Remington Red Metallic or similar maroon in color.  The vehicle should have right front end damage and possible damage on the right side.

On July 24, 2022 at 7:30 p.m., in the parking lot of 3692 Waters Ave. in Tampa, the victim was flagged down by the male driver of a black BMW SUV. While the victim was speaking with a female in the rear passenger seat, she took a gold necklace valued at approx. $2,300.

Tampa PD Dectives Ask for Tips to Identify Catalytic Converter Thieves

STATUS: OPEN
On 07/16/22 at 10:16 a.m., two suspects entered a business located in the 4400 block of W. Osborne Ave. in Tampa. Surveillance video captured the suspects arriving in a dark or black sedan and jumping the fence while carrying a saw. A short time later, the suspects can be seen on video going back over the fence with a catalytic converter. It was discovered the catalytic converter was cut from a company truck. A third suspect waited outside the fence and took the stolen catalytic converter.

New Port Richey Detectives Seek Tips to ID Fraud Suspects

On July 12, 2022, two unknown black males utilized a cloned credit card to fraudulently purchase three electric bikes totaling $10,000 from Astro Cycles in New Port Richey. After the purchase, the suspects posted the bikes on Facebook Marketplace for resale.
